Why we exist
Most BC drivers run into the same problem at the worst moment: a number they did not choose. The tax on a used car is charged on a book value that may be higher than what the car is actually worth. An ICBC total-loss offer can come in below what it would cost to replace the vehicle. A classic car does not fit any standard pricing guide at all.
Car Appraisal BC was created to explain those moments clearly first: what the forms do, how the tax rules work, how valuation disputes are documented, and what a proper appraisal should contain once you hire a qualified appraiser.
Independent by design
We are not affiliated with ICBC, the Government of BC, a dealership, or an insurer. That independence is the point: vehicle owners should understand the paperwork and valuation process before they pay for anything.
What the resource covers
- FIN-320 appraisals for PST, private sales, gifts, and transfers
- ICBC total-loss and write-off valuation disputes
- Classic, collector, and modified vehicle valuation
- Out-of-province and imported vehicle tax questions
Service launch status
